Our Story

Show Off Aotearoa gallery and studio is owned and run by Adele Wooller in the small coastal town of Raglan in the North Island of Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Adele began making jewellery in her 20’s, for NZ clothing designers and department stores. She moved to Raglan with her son Miguel in the 1980’s and the opportunity to rent a space on the main street became available.

Through many beautiful and natural encounters, Show Off has evolved into so much more than she initially had ideas for. Working with the Pounamu came about when one day in her first year of being open, a local man from the West Coast of the South Island called into the shop with a Land Rover full of top quality stone enquiring if there would be any interest. Adele fell in love with Pounamu and its cultural history and significance to Aotearoa, and she felt it was a fantastic opportunity to have it’s presence in Raglan.

Since then, Show Off has represented only New Zealand carvers who work with genuine Pounamu and has become renowned for top quality pieces and diverse designs.

Alongside the carvings, Adele and her now adult son Miguel use off-cuts from the carvers to shape, design and manufacture contemporary jewellery made with silver and gold.

The gallery aspect of Show Off began with Jane Galloway, a well known local Raglan artist, exhibiting her works on the walls, who still to this day has a dedicated space that always displays her latest paintings and digital prints.Throughout the years, Show Off has worked with a range of talented artists and always has a rotation of works on display.
